Project information
A major enhanced oil recovery project targeting the area’s shallow heavy oil reservoirs. The facility is supplied by 26 wells across two producing fields. Produced fluids and vapour are gathered at a central processing facility for separation and metering. Water from aquifer wells is treated to generate steam, which is injected into the reservoirs to help produce heavy oil. Awali provided piping, mechanical and structural design for the project, including offsite well sites, oil and steam flowlines, and manifolds. The onsite facilities included three-stage separation, steam generation, water treatment, crude oil storage and distribution pumps, and a flare system.
